Scanned images will be placed into folders with a five digit number and corresponding notes, if they are provided. Images inside the folders will contain the same five digit number as the folder structure, along with an ascending number starting at one for that folder. We will continue on with ascending numbers from folder to folder if that is designated at drop-off or consultation session. Every scanning project is unique and we recommend a consultation with one of our archivists.
Estimates and quotes are available, upon request. There is a charge of $50 for all estimates, payable at the time of drop-off and is non-refundable. If you decide to leave your project with us, we will apply the full value of your estimate fee to your project if it exceeds $500 in total. We will apply half of the estimate fee to your project if it does not reach $500. A deposit will be required on all projects and can be paid at the time of drop-off, or by online invoice after an estimate has been produced.
As with all of our archiving services, a good rule: if you bring in a physical mess, you'll get a digital mess in return.
Loose print scans are captured on a roll scanner that has pressure sensitive rollers and paper guides. Acceptable sizes for loose print scans are 2" x 3" Wallet size up to 8" x 10". Loose print scans can not have adhesive or other sticky substances on them, no post-it notes on the backs, no rips or tears that could get caught, and cannot be rigid or thick like Polaroids. Loose prints that do not meet these requirements will be considered small format flatbed scans.
